In the tutorial it said that hope traits are permanantly lost but why not also say hope points are if getting them back is so obscure. You can NOT use the herb in town, so don't bother going back to town to use the inn with it. If it's there again, then it's permanent and you should remember where you found it and come back later with a cooking set.
